Like Universal’s fine 2003 compilation Blues Boulevard's 2012 collection Confessin’ My Blues concentrates on the bluesier sides Chuck Berry recorded while at Chess Records in the ‘50s and ‘60s. This runs 20 tracks, a bit longer than the 2003 set, and it has more of his smokey, late-night tributes to T-Bone Walker and Charles Brown, and also some roadhouse shuffles and boogies, a thoroughly appealing mix that makes this one hell of a good time.
